Punk

Punk rock is a music genre like no other.  It is hard to pinpoint an exact time or a place to its origins, as it stems from many types of music (particularly reggae).  The popularity of Punk begun in the 1970s.  The climatic year being 1977, a golden era for fans of this anti-establishment movement!!!God save the Queen!!!

Punk rock was the first type of ”political” music that created a deliberate and often violent reaction to the issues of the time.  Its hatred of mass commercialised music and so called “boring” lifestyles of their peers guaranteed huge media attention.  They are many different types of Punk, the most popular being Oi!,  Hardcore,  Anarcho,  Post and New wave.
